#44 NLCS

Today will probably be a fairly short post, I don’t have a real plan or anything I’m just firing off the top of my head. My post today will mainly be about the NLCS, like I said I haven’t really watched much nor do I have much to say but I feel like talking about a couple things. But before I get into the Cubs-Dodgers series I have to mention the Yankees-Astros series which is far more interesting right now. The Astros won the first 2 games of the series with ease, it looked like the ‘Stros were just the better team but the Yankees rallied and have won 3 games in a row and now lead the series 3-2. It’s been pretty impressive actually, don’t know if they can close it out but still got to give the Yankees props.

The Dodgers won the first 3 games of the series and were going for the sweep last night but the Cubs hung on for a 3-2 win. I don’t mean to sound like a Cubs basher but after the series with the Nats and they barely won that did anyone really see them sneaking past the Dodgers too? Before Cubs fans jump on me for saying that I know they have won 3 games in a row before and it’s possible they can come back I just don’t see it happening. The Cubs strength this year was their hitting and the offense is not doing anything right now. 100% of the Cubs runs this series have came from homers, they have power in the lineup and they can run into a few but nobody is hitting enough to really worry about. I noticed that in the Nats series, no one on the Cubs team is really a threat with the bat. Right now, in the postseason not the regular season. Granted the Cubs are facing good pitching this postseason but right the Cubs couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn right. The stat I saw this morning was that that the Dodgers have 26 walks in this series the Cubs only have 4. Yikes all I have to say. The supposed strength of the Cubs is not looking pretty right now, while the Dodgers are looking like a very good team on both sides of the ball. I don’t think the Cubs bullpen looks too good either, it took literally everything the Cubs could muster to beat the Nats (and some interesting calls by the umpires) and I didn’t think they had enough left to beat the Dodgers too. However if you’re a Cubs fan reading this it might help because I might’ve just jinxed the Dodgers and now the Cubs might start hitting.
